B.A.D.G.E. (tm) Brazilian Advanced Defense for Ground Engagement - Based on techniques of Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, B.A.D.G.E. (tm) will teach officers a highly effective and a non lethal system for subduing a non-compliant suspect.

Most non-compliant arrests end up on the ground. In this course we will familiarize officers with simple and effective ground control tactics. All techniques are contingent on your department’s Lethal Force Continuum.

Participants are encouraged to take notes and to drill the techniques presented.

Brief overview of techniques -

• Advantages and disadvantages of each ground position (mount/mounted, sidemount/sidemounted, backmount/backmounted, knee on belly, guard, guarded).
  
• Avoidance and escapes from each ground position.
• Effective control and cuffing techniques from each ground position.
• Gun retention for each ground position.
• B.A.D.G.E. (tm) course will also cover escaping and avoiding many dangerous holds an officer might encounter with a non-compliant suspect.
• B.A.D.G.E. (tm) also covers effective takedown and clinching from standing.
